Literary and cultural city program
The city of Antwerp and the writer William Elsschot. They are inextricably linked. William Elsschot (1882-1960) was born and raised in the Scheldt City. He established his family and his business there. He also wrote his famous books in Antwerp. In 2007 it was 125 years ago that Elsschot was born. In 2010 it is 50 years ago that the writer deceased.
The city of Antwerp will not let these birthdays go unnoticed. From 2007-2010 it organizes the literary and cultural program, The City of Elsschot. Every year exciting William Elsschot activities are organized, sometimes big, sometimes reduced. In 2010 the apotheosis takes place. Then we celebrate William Elsschot during the whole year, as an Antwerp writer of stories and poems that appeal to everyone.
All possible communication around these activities is provided by us. This ranges from, amongst others, invitations, posters, brochures, leaflets and postcards to a stand for the bookfair. All this taking into account the housestyle of the City of Antwerp.
